Damn near at peak
Took a few pics, the weather broke from some rain and junk and we dried
up so I snapped a couple of pics...

It has been a long time since I have enjoyed one of these! Kinda like
running into a long lost friend! Ya really enjoy the first few times ya
get back together, about 12 times in this case. Then, you might see
each other again in another year and get caught up and reacquaint
yourselves again... That's the way I feel about this one... Really
nice to have it again, but I won't look to keep it in a regular
rotation. I will look forward to a 6 pack again around the spring time,
just to see how the ol' beer is doing! Gives a bit of a hoppy hit to
the nose, but not overly hoppy at all. Pours a nice dark gold, not a
red, but not brownish or yellowy gold... What the hell is the color I
am looking for??? It's a good beer, go get yourself a sixer and get
reacquainted with an old friend!

I thought for sure I had had this once before and moblogged it... But,
I guess not! Not a new beer to me, I have had it before, but it is
always a favorite! I used to love the Sam Adams Honey Porter and was
bummed when that left the store shelves... Anywho, this is not about my
long lost love, Honey Porter... Nope, this post is for the Cream
Stout. Pours black as black can be... Has a decent amount of
carbonation and a good "creamy" head to it which is almost a golden
brown or at least a dark tan. Get definite hits of chocolate and
roasted malts in this one, i don't think it is a coffee stout, so i am
guessing at roasted malt. A bit on the biter side, but I am all about
the biter!!

This stuff rocks! I love it when you can find this on tap! Has corn in
it! I have a hard time picking out tastes that aren't very obvious and
corn is just not an obvious taste for me. I got the hints of some kind
of fruit action happening and the yeast left in the bottle is always
worth an additional 10 points in my book! Good stuff! Like Yokel,
would make for a good beer on a hot summer day!

The one nice thing about a 30 minute drive to and from work up here in
da nort'woods is that during the fall, the colors are so kick ass!
Sure, peeps will say, yeah, but you have to drive in the snow too...
Cool by me! Love a good challenge!!

love this time of year!

I have had the pics on the camera for a while... Snapped these about 3
weeks ago when the leaves were just beginning to change. Today, we are
pretty much past peak with quite a few trees already naked.
