Tyranena ~ Stickin It To The Man
From the Brewers Gone Wild series of beers is
Stickin It To The Man, an IPA styled beer. This IPA is not as hoppy as
the Bitter Woman From Hell, but it is a good and easy drinker. This
comes in 4-packs and is about as expensive as a regular six pack of
good micro-beer. Worth it? Yeah, I think so... Daily/Weekly
drinker? Probably not... But if you can have a couple every month, it
is a nice treat!! Like I said earlier, less hoppy and bitter than
their other high hopped Bitter Woman From Hell beer. Less alcohol too
and a nice fruity/citrus presence.
Grolsch Brewery ~ Grolsch
I picked this one up after an email exchange with
Dolf over at http://www.dollev.com/ It was the weekend of the July 4th
festivities here and it was kind of warm out and a nice pale lager is
good beer for just such a day. I enjoy this beer. While a prefer a
heavier and darker beer with more hop and malt, this is a refreshing
beer. If you get the 16oz bottles they have the cool flippy top. This
was from a 12 pack of Grolsch. Wonder what this would taste like fresh
and on tap. Might have to visit Dolf someday to find out!!
A Christmas Tree?? In June??
You betcha! Someone is getting their tree early
this year!! Haha. Actually, I do know the reason why there is a
Christmas tree on top of a vehicle on June 28th. Ya see, where I work,
they are working on the Christmas catalog and Internet pictures now.
This is the company photographer's vehicle and they were off to do a
location shoot with the tree. It was pretty funny to see it on his
vehicle as I was leaving for the day. I decided to snap a pic...
Sprecher ~ Abbey Triple
Ok, this has been on here before, but the
packaging is different! Last won was in this post
http://moblog.badgertech.net/post.php/343 With the big special edition
bottle. This was my birthday beer. A leftover from the Great Northern
Beer Festival that I smuggled out. Saved it for a special day, I
suppose my 42nd birthday was as special as they come :))
Super Star!
Haha, I am not going to inflate his ego, but Mike
really had a good season of little league. He started at 3rd base the
entire season and even had a few chances to pitch. This picture was
taken by Sammi. Mike's coach called him up on the Saturday morning
that BP and I were up at the Great Northern Beer Festival. He wanted
to know if Mike could play in a tournament that day. So Sammi went
with him and took pictures. Mom was working and I was away, sure are
proud of the little dude!
Wasn't having the best of days
and made sure to tell BP all about it when he was
rubbing in the fact that he was home for the week! Bastard!
Old One - New One
Old one is on the right and the new super computer
is on the right! Been enjoying using the horsepower in my new super
computer at work. Makes doing virtualization stuff so much easier. I
can now run VMWare ESX server withing a virtual machine and then, have
a couple of CentOS virtual machines running within THAT! Simply
amazing...
Beer Fest Guys
Here we are!! Left to right > Myself, Jimmy,
and BP... That was a fun day, I mean weekend!!
Beer Fest Breakfast of Champions
Some Falls Brewing and Tyranena are always a good
way to start the day.
BP Says...
Can you hear me now? Good, cuz I had to stand on
a friggin picnic table to be heard!!! Cell phone reception was a small
issue at Hi-Pines Campground in Eagle River where the Great Northern
Beer Festival was held.
WTF is the Great Northern Beer Festival??
WTF is it?? BP's are driving around trying to get
to the beer fest!!
Windows Blows!! Bill Gates Swallows!!
The picture says it all... Funny, never ever saw
one of these while running any *nix... At least this was at work and I
actually got paid to push the reset button on my computer.
Hereford & Hops ~ Cleary Red
Loved the bigger bottle, like the Whitetail Ale
mentioned a few posts from here, these are 22 oz larger bottles, which
me likey mucho much! That said, my joy for the big bottle was
overshadowed by yet another seemingly lackluster beer from Hereford
& Hops. It was an ok beer, but not anything special. There was no
WOW factor to either of the Hereford & Hops beers. Reminded me of
just about every red beer I have ever had... Killian's, Leinie's,
whatever...
New Glarus ~ Coffee Stout
I hope this isn't a duplicate, haha. This is
another one consumed back in the first part of April of this year, but
this one I do remember quite well. I love stouts and am really
becoming a big fan of coffee stouts. Apparently, Mr. Teddy Bear is
also a fan of coffee and stout as I caught him trying to consume my
beer!! What I recall of this beer are more or less bullet points...
Creamy, small head... Not too much alcohol... Just a few shades of
color from being black, maybe a little red in it... Let it warm a bit,
better beer at the finish... Coffee is not overpowering... Chocolate
hint...
I have since had this again, that helped the recall, haha. It is a
very worth beer! You should try some! Let it warm up a bit before you
pour.
Whitetail Ale ~ Hereford & Hops
Had this one a long time ago, back at the Tomahawk
Beer Fest and I scored a bottle for later consumption. I can't
remember the details about the beer, but you can see it is lighter
beer. That is what I remembered most, it was a light beer that really
didn't pack much of a punch. It was kind almost as if I were drinking
any old beer. Nothing really stood out about the beer. The server at
the Tomahawk Beer Fest was a nice guy, was an Assistant Manager from
Trig's in Wausau. Was fun talking with him.
Vintage Beer Stuff!
I am way behind in my posting of mobile phone
pics, but I do keep them!!
My buddy, Big Joe, up in Superior, WI gave me a couple of old brewania
items for my bar!! BP and I met up with Big Joe when we went up to the
Gitchee Gummee Beer Festival.
The items were a old bottle from Northern Beer and an old piece of
advertising from Northern Brewing Company in Superior Wisconsin. Very
cool items! They will look most spectacular in my bar!!
Thanks Joe!!
